When you want to turn that bare patch of ground into a nice lush lawn, you need to be prepared to do the following:

Address any problems that your lawn or soil may presently have, and understand why your last lawn didn’t thrive. This may mean that you have to do a pH test on your soil to determine if your soil is lacking any necessary nutrients or has unbalanced levels that could impact grass growth. Once these issues are rectified, you can then go on to check the drainage and the shade in the area.

Before laying your new lawn, you must ensure that all of the old grass and weeds are removed from the soil before you lay the new turf. Otherwise, grass and weeds will start growing underneath the latest lawn, ve the latest shoots, and hamper root growth. Aerate the ground to loosen up the compacted soil and then level out the soil to spread it evenly and slope in the desired direction.

Lay the turf in a staggered pattern (similar to brickwork) to prevent drying out and soil erosion when it rains. Finally, thoroughly water your new lawn and try not to walk on the grass until it’s established. Following these principles, your new lawn should grow healthy and established quickly!
